Partial solar eclipse of 2022

The phenomenon was also visible from Switzerland - We will have to wait four years to witness the next partial eclipse.

On 25 October 2022, one of the most fascinating spectacles the sky has to offer took place: a partial solar eclipse. This event was also visible from Switzerland, with a dimming of the star of about 20-25%, reaching its maximum around 12:15pm. On the occasion of this special event, our group gathered on top of one of the ETH buildings to observe the phenomenon together using a specialised "H-alpha" solar telescope, the Coronado Personal Solar Telescope.
